Remember to sign a new contract
Everyone who lives with Sit and wants to continue living in the fall must sign a new contract no later than April 30th.
The contract you have entered into with Sit expires on 31 July 2025. If you wish to continue living there in the autumn, you must sign a new contract with updated terms no later than 30 April 2025. The prerequisite is that you still meet the requirements for student accommodation.
You can find the new contract with the new rental price from 1 August 2025 for your current rental property at bolig.sit.no -under 'My Page'. The contract must be signed no later than 30 April 2025. If you do not wish to sign the new contract, you can decline it on 'My Page'. If you are renting a parking space or storage unit, please remember to sign new contract(s) for these as well
From 1 August 2025, all rental contracts with a fixed energy fee will display only one price line for rent including energy, instead of previously having one line for rent and one for energy.
Are you unsure whether you want to sign a new contract? We recommend that you sign the new contract. Remember that you only have a two-month notice period, and if you want to stay until, for example 5 August 2025, you can sign a new contract and then terminate the contract by 5 June 2025.
Are you considering switching to another housing through Sit? We recommend that you still sign a new contract, as you may not be able to book new housing before your current contract expires. Note that there is no notice period when you switch housing internally in Sit.
Do you want your partner to be the contract holder for the new contract? The procedure of changing the main tenant must be completed before the deadline on 30 April 2025. Please send an email to bolig@sit.no as soon as possible to receive the procedure.
