Garbage

Correct handling of waste is part of Sit's Regulations for student housing. Any costs incurred to Sit as a result of breaching the Regulations for student housing will be charged to the tenant, cf. the Tenancy agreement § 16-1. Breaching the Regulations for student housing can result in written warnings, termination of the housing contract, and, in very serious cases, annulling of the housing contract, cf. the Tenancy agreement §§16-3 and 16-4.

  • Waste should never be kept in stairways, entrances, shared corridors or basement areas.
  • Waste must always be properly packed and disposed of at designated areas.
  • Waste must never be left outside the waste containers.
  • All student villages have designated containers for various kinds of recyclable waste, and all tenants must sort their waste accordingly before disposing of it.

Household waste/food waste

  • This kind of waste should be deposited in containers labeled Restavfall.
  • The waste must be placed in plastic bags. Regular plastic bags from convenience stores are fine. Very large shopping bags and large garbage bags must not be used, because they will not fit in the waste container's opening.
  • You must never place waste next to the waste container, in the stairway, or any other place outside of your own apartment, because this type of waste attracts insects, birds, rats, and other vermin.

Plastic/plastic packaging

  • This kind of waste should be deposited in containers labeled Plastemballasje.
  • Plastic packaging that has contained food must always be rinsed thoroughly before it is discarded.
  • The waste must be placed in plastic bags. Regular plastic bags from convenience stores are fine. Very large shopping bags and large garbage bags must not be used, because they will not fit in the waste container's opening.

Cardboard/paper

  • This kind of waste should be deposited in containers labeled Papp Papir.
  • It must not be put in plastic bags
  • Cut or tear the cardboard into smaller pieces if it is difficult to fit in the container.
  • Contact the maintenance department if you have cardboard or paper waste that can't be fitted into the container, and we will help you remove it. You'll find the contact information in the menu on the right or on the bottom of the page.

Special waste/hazardous waste/waste containing electronic components

  • This must not be placed in the stairways or by our regular waste stations.
  • Must be thrown in designated containers labeled Farlig avfall which can be found on the parking lot by Bregnevegen 65 at Moholt student village.

Disposable grills

  • It is strictly forbidden to throw disposable grills in the household waste containers, due to the very high risk of causing fires.
  • All our student villages that have grill/barbecue areas have designated waste containers for disposable grills.

Furniture and other waste that does not have a designated waste container

  • Contact our maintenance department to make an appointment for collecting the waste. You'll find the contact information in the menu on the right or on the bottom of the page.
We only collect waste during ordinary opening hours.
