Moholt Student Kindergarten offers a safe and stimulating environment for children aged 0–6, with a focus on play, exploration and community. Featuring our own cook, vegetable garden and a sustainable building, we create a healthy and inspiring environment.

In Trondheim, we own and operate two student kindergartens – Dragvoll and Moholt – offering approximately 250 places for children aged 0-6.

Child-centred approach

When children and parents start at Moholt Student Kindergarten, they will encounter friendly educators who provide care and support in everyday life. We attach importance to the child’s development and offering practical assistance and guidance that parents and students.

The kindergarten features rooms and activities that enable children to explore and seek new knowledge. The rooms are welcoming and contain a variety of materials. We offer many fun and exciting meeting places that encourage children to investigate, be curious and wonder together with other children.

Culture and language

The kindergarten has a dedicated water room, Marinen, and a large, central space called Storsalen, where children use their whole bodies in activities involving music, dance and drama. We often host concerts and theatrical performances in Storsalen featuring kindergarten staff and external guests.

Departments

Moholt Student Kindergarten has five departments. These are named after the student reviews: Domino, Skubidi, Filliputt, Jubalong and Lurifax.

We refer to our kindergarten as an ecological kindergarten because the building is constructed from solid wood and heated using geothermal energy geovarme. We have a conscious attitude towards waste sorting and recycling and are under Sit’s Eco-Lighthouse certification.

Food

The student kindergarten has its own cook who serves oatmeal porridge for breakfast and dinner five days a week. We have our own vegetable garden and beehives on the roof.
