STI testing

STI testing

Every Wednesday from 4pm to 7pm, you can get tested or treated for STIs at Gløshaugen medical centre.

Our friendly and professional team of GPs, public health nurses and health secretaries are ready to welcome you to our offices.

Can't find any available appointments? You could also get tested for STIs at you local GP. It is recommended that you have GP in the city where you stay the most.

What do you offer?
  • Testing of STIs (sexually transmitted infections) like chlamydia or gonorrhoea. Please keep in mind the window period of 2 weeks – wait to get tested after the window period has passed.
  • Examination of other sexually transmitted infections.
How do I get my results?
  • If your test is positive, you’ll be contacted by one of our health professionals and receive an electronical prescription which you can use at your nearest pharmacy.
  • "No news is good news": if you don’t hear anything from us within 2 weeks, you’ve tested negatively.
Self-testing of STIs on campus!

Can't find available appointments at the health centre? Now you can easily test yourself on campus and the best thing of all, it's completely free. This is a pilot project to increase the testing capacity for students per month. You will be able to self-test for STIs until Wednesday 13th December 2023.

The self-test stations are located at The Student Center at campus Gløshaugen and the handicap toilet at campus DMMH (1505).

Note! There is only a limited number of tests available each week.
