Goal

By the end of the course, you will feel more confident when speaking in front of others. You will learn techniques to manage nervousness and build self-assurance through practical training.

What you will learn

  • Understanding speech anxiety – What it is, why it occurs, and how it affects you.
  • Pulse rounds and the anxiety scale – How to measure and understand your own reactions.
  • Exposure and mastery experiences – Why practice and experience are essential for improvement.
  • Self-acceptance and mindset – Learn to accept yourself and manage performance anxiety.
  • Safe practice in a supportive group – Gain the opportunity to practice in a safe and encouraging environment.
  • Practical exercises between sessions – Assignments to reinforce learning between sessions.

This course is designed for those who want to take control of their fear of public speaking and develop confidence in facing an audience. Through practical exercises, guidance, and support from instructors and fellow participants, you will gain the tools needed to handle public speaking situations with greater ease.

Course leaders

  • Martine is studying organizational psychology, HR, and management at BI Norwegian Business School. In addition, she is a trained nurse from NTNU and has various experience from student volunteer work in Trondheim.
