The fridge/window/shower/etc is broken, who can help?
Contact the maintenance section at (735)51600. If you need help urgently outside opening hours, in case of a water leakage for example, you may call 02347. This is SiT Boligs alarm-central wich is required to assist in urgent matters outside SiT's opening hours.
The washing machine didn't start, will I still have to pay for it?
No, the washingmachines are programmed to only charge you if they have been running for a few minutes. Dryers are free to use.
Can I rent a guest room for a few days?
No, we only have long-term contracts for students.
Can I borrow an extra bed?
Yes, contact your local resident assistants, and they will lend you a camp-bed. Their services are not available during summer-months.
What has to be cleaned when moving out?
The cleaning section have their own guidelines regarding this, and you may also contact them and make an appointment if you want an inspection before you leave. Call them at (735)51652 or boligrenhold@sit.no.
When will I get my deposit money back?
Usually 4 to 8 weeks after your contract has ended.
INTERNET; My internet is down, who can help me?
Contact NTNU orakel, phone them at (735)91500. PS! the internet is not wireless.
TELEPHONE; I'm only able to make internal calls. What should I do?
Answer: Inform the reception. In case the phone appliance is broken, take it to the reception and you will get a new one.
KEY; I have lost my key. What should I do?
You cannot make a duplicate key by yourself. We usually have keys in store at our reception. A replacement key will cost 180,- NOK and is charged along with the next month's house rent. You may borrow an extra key for 14 days in case you are lucky enough to find your lost key. If you can't get inside your house and the reception is closed, you may call the alarm central at (0)02347, but they will take a fee for opening up.
LAUNDRY-CARD; I have lost my laundry-card. What should I do?
SiT Bolig can block your laundry-card if you think somebody else has found it and might misuse it. You can order a new card at the reception. It will cost you 200,- NOK and is charged along with your next month's house rent.
Help, something is stolen!
There may be burglary in the storage room, the apartment, in a garage or somewhere else. For most students, this comes as a harsh surprise and very few have their own household contents insurance. Many are covered by their parents insurance but the extent of coverage varies between insurance companies. SiT has insured its inventory, but not the resident's personal properties. The things stored in the storage room are not insured unless the resident has it covered by his/her own or parents insurance. We suggest that everyone checks to what extent he or she has insurance. A simple household contents insurance costs less then 1000,- NOK per year.
